Just before the big snowstorm in February, a sweet pittie was found inside an abandoned house in Sand Springs.
She was not alone.
Inside the house were her litter of puppies, another dog, and a cat — all needing help, safety, and care before the freezing weather moved in.
Because of loving, caring people in the community, help came in time. One by one, they were rescued from a dangerous situation and given the chance every animal deserves: a safe place, a warm space, and people who cared enough to act.
This rescue is a reminder of how powerful community can be. Sometimes saving a life starts with someone noticing. Sometimes it takes a group of people working together. And sometimes, that effort means an entire little family gets a second chance before it is too late.
Today, this sweet girl’s story represents more than one rescue. It represents compassion in action — neighbors, rescuers, and animal lovers stepping up when lives depended on it.
Because of them, she, her puppies, the other dog, and the cat were not left behind. They were seen. They were helped. They were saved.
